PC to Tv monitor- sound issues Help needed

I'm using my tv as the monitor for my desktop Dell computer. But I can't get the sound to play through my TV. I'm using VGA cable for connection between PC and tv. Can anyone direct me how to play the sound through the tv ands not hook up external speakers?

you would need a cable for the sound from the motherboard audio jacks to the tv input for audio

vga don't carry sound native and needs a audio cable independent as above or built in as below to do the same

If your monitor and PC both have HDMI ports- using single HDMI cable would carry both video and sound. Also, with it video quality would be better.

dvi [card] to hdmi [monitor/tv ] will as well carry audio . vga is analog ''video only''
