PC X12 Turtle Beach microphone picking up headphones, not voice

I have tried maybe 300 threads online.

several hours of fixing, Took these back 4 times and the same set wont work. So this is my problem


When I try to skype/steam It wont pick up the microphone. headphones work fine. When I go to Sound > Recording there is only Stereo Mix Realtek High definition audio. Yes I have the options ticked to show me disabled devices and such. I can post pictures, any solution

If it doesn't show up in Windows it is a hardware problem.

Call up Turtle Beach customer service and if they don't set you up with a new pair or at least a discount, get new cans and never buy headphones from a gaming company again.
