Hi All,

My wife is going away for a week's holiday with her sister. Between them,
they couldn't navigate out of the driveway (this is not a feminist comment -
they are useless!)

I want to buy her a PDA with GPS navigation, as reasonably as possible. Has
anyone any experience of these, and could recommend one? Preferably I am
looking for ease of use, rather than knobs & whistles.

Any suggestions?

Thanks very much.

If it's for navigation only go for TomTom Go it has very good write ups and
is very reasonably priced

Alternatively go for a TomTom PDA GPS package

I personally use ALK's Pocket CoPilot Live (just got 5.0). Biggest benefit:
speech synthesis. I don't know how many times it has told me "just ahead, turn
right onto foo street" and I see two right turns within 100'. Hearing the name
is immensely useful and keeps me from going insane.

Their data export tool on the PC allows you to expect ONLY what you need
(unlike TomTom which forces you to choose regions). You can even plan a
trip and say "export 50 mile radius at each waypoint and a 10 mile
corridor between waypoints." Very very nice export. And the map files
are small (60 miles around San Jose is ~14MB.)

Check my web site for reviews and a list of choices. She might really
like routis.
