When I carry my phone in my hip holster, the incoming call ringer does not announce incoming calls. But the msg text alert works fine. This is a Moto G Power 5G (2024) supplied by T-Mobile and running Android 15.
I normally have the Flip DND function turn on because if I don't, I get all sorts of bells and whistles at night when I'm trying to sleep. (stupid Amber Alerts from cities 300 miles from me!!). So I turn my phone over at night. But I'm wondering if the phone isn't mistaking in the holster for being turned over.
Apparently the Flip DND doesn't apply to text messages as I have gotten texts, and it's alert sound, in the middle of the night when the Flip function is active and the phone is turned over as well as when the phone is in the holster.

Have you considered setting up DND on a schedule, like during your normal sleep hours, and leaving it off the rest of the time?

I got this particular problem solved. Now if I can only figure out how to get the phone out of a secured holster and answer the call before the caller hangs up. Aw heck! It was probably just another Medicare Advantage plan salesperson anyway.

What was the "fix"?

I found out that T-Mobile's particular version of Android 16 locks out the audible alarms when the Bluetooth is engaged. I had my hearing aid sync'ed to the phone via Bluetooth which locked out all of the audible alerts, including the ringer. Once it turned off the Bluetooth, everything came back. Which means I can't use my hearing aid with the phone.

That is unfortunate. Has T-Mobile offered any options for this?
