phone vs laptop video streaming bandwidth usage

i want to watch a telesoap on pollystreaming.n my screen res of mobile is 720x1280 full HD IPS screen. n my lappy has HD LED Display (1,366 x 768).will it reduce my internet bandwidth usage if i watch on my phone(using polly streaming app) than on laptop using the same pollystreaming website? surprsingly very few results comeup when i google on this phone vs laptop bandwidth usage. please help..because i have only 8GB allowance per month.

Your phones stream would most likely be compressed much more than your laptops video would be. So your phone in theory should use less bandwidth to stream the same show as your laptop.

There will most likely be no difference between the two since practically no site streams at 1366x768 - your laptop would get the same 1280x720 stream as your phone would.

If you want lower resolution than that to save bandwidth, see if the streaming site/app has an option to force lower resolution streams such as 480p like Netflix and Youtube do.
