cuecuemore's link advises you on creating a Hotspot but if you're looking to connect the phone to a wireless network, you simply go to Settings then Wi-Fi settings then you will see the available networks which are close enough to connect to. Pick the one you have the security key to and enter that key when prompted. That network will then be stored in a preferred list just the same way it does on your PC when you save the settings.
