Picture on tv set is red when I conntected the cables to my dvd

Hello! Plse help! I just got a new LG TV set, and when I connected the Component video outsput sockets Y Pb or Y of the DVD player to the Component Input sockets Y Pb Pr ont he set, the picture is red. The colors of the input sockets are different on the TV than the output sockets of the dvd. I live on a island and dont have access to shops, but can import the correct cables if neccessary.

Generally if the color coding of the cables is not matching, the connection will not work.....If you can provide model numbers of both the TV and the DVD player or, better yet, pictures of the rear connector panels, I might be able to help.
