I have been experiencing regular ping spikes while playing games like Dota 2 or CS:GO for around 2 months now (Started occurring since 1 week after first-use). My ping would suddenly rise to 200 for a few seconds and then drop down to my usual 60 ping. It's very annoying to play with these lag spikes because they happen as often as every 30-60 seconds.

I'm using Windows 10 and my network adapter is Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260.

I have Google'd a lot on this problem and have tried many solutions such as,
Updating networking drivers.
Reinstalling different versions of the required driver.
Reinstalling GameFirst III or uninstalling it for good.
Editing registry file (ScanWhenAssociated).

Unfortunately, none of these solutions have solved my problem even though others have reported success. I have other computers running games smoothly on the same WiFi network, therefore it is not something wrong with the router or my internet connection.
I have also tried ping tests through CMD and they show random ping spikes as well.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me solve this problem. :)

Hi,

Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help in identifying the issue.
- Start by testing if the same problem will persist if you connect your laptop hardwired.
- If it's working just fine if it's connected hardwired do power cycle your Wireless Router.
- Turn it off and on then see if will perform better after the power cycle.
- Next to try is to disable or uninstall the antivirus of your laptop for the mean time and see if that will make any difference.
- Do also run Windows Update and install all updates available.
- Also do try to uninstall/reinstall the wifi adapter of your laptop.
- If all these will not work I would also suggest contacting your ISP first and last resort for your laptop would be to reinstall Windows 10.
