pioneer dvd surrounded sound

hi I have a Samsung tv and a pioneer dvd surround sound ive connected the dvd to tv with a homi cable.. the sound for the dvd comes though speakers but the sound from the TV does not come though the speakers??? any advice thanks

In order for TV sound to come on your DVD surround system, any of these 3 things needs to happen:

1. TV and Pioneer both have HDMI ARC capability.
2. Hook up Samsung Toslink to Pioneer's Toslink.
3. Hook up Sammsung headphone out to Pioneer Aux/LineIN, providing stereo only.

I have a hdmi from the dvd to tv.. that plays the surround sound.. but the tv sound does not come though an does not come though using headphone outlet
