There are tons of free music playback apps on the Google Play Store, however knowing if they will run from an SD card (that isn't formatted as Internal Storage) is not something that would be generally known. You can try checking the apps information on the site, or contact the apps creator.

Alas, most apps are made to run on the phones Internal Storage and not from a SD card.
