Help! I have a new vehicle that doesn't have a cd player. Hoping to play cd's/books on cd in car. thought I could somehow use a portable cd player and hook it up to play through car audio but there's no aux outlet, only usb ports. Is there a way to solve this dilemna? Thanks

Thanks. Will remember that for my music CD's. What about library books on CD? I don't know how to "rip CD's to MP3" so that's my first problem. And it was so easy to just play the CD's then return to library when I was done. Do you know anything about FM transmitters and portable CD players for use in cars?

You can use a FM transmitter, they work ok for what they are. Plug into the headphone jack on your CD player and you tune to a unused station on your radio and it plays. That would work too.

It's often possible to add an aux input to a factory car stereo. Check with a local car stereo store in your area, If you don't want a FM transmitter plug sticking out of your aux power port they could wire something more neatly.
