[citation][nom]ally[/nom]Wow, dooder and aaron686 apparently can't read.[/citation]

...and apparently, you like to give yourself a "thumbs up". I always proof-read what I post, but only for grammatical and spelling errors. I also know an idiot when I see one, and you are one that is extremely difficult to miss.

The reason I would never give the idiots that made this the ridiculous amount they want is the same reason I will never pay to jailbreak an iPhone: There is little to no value in the product. Sure, these products give expanded abilities to the hardware we own, but there is little intrinsic value in these products.

It is clear that the creators of this USB stick are only interested in ripping some people off before Sony does something to break the USB stick; this will probably only screw those that do not purchase this(about 98% of PS3 owners, at this price). Of course, when the stick is rendered useless by Sony(which is probable), the creator's of this USB stick will come out with an "improved" model, which will either just defeat the new PS3 firmware, or they will charge twice the price and include some type of ability to update the software contained within the USB stick(unless the hardware, which is extremely simplistic, if it exist, is rendered useless, too).

If these people asked a reasonable price, then I would be willing to pay. When people look to rip others off, then I will be here to rip them off. The other issue is that this USB stick is doing something that we, as the owners of the actual gaming hardware and software, should already be able to do. I refuse to pay someone to give me the extra functionality that should already exist. I am more inclined to donate money so that those who cannot afford to donate can enjoy this extra functionality, and those that create the new functionality have some source of reward for their work.

$150 is about as obscene as the raving morons that created such wonders as the Action 52 for the NES(which, funny enough, cost $199, though it would cost more today with the change in currency value). The USB stick will probably give about as much entertain value(in terms of length of usefulness).

I would like to add that it is interesting that you all of a sudden decided to register today and start posting. That either means that you have another account on here, or you decided to start supporting your new product.

Goodbye.

Or maybe I didn't have anything else to say before this? I don't care about the product tbh, I merely made my post to clear up misinformation being spread by people such as yourself who seem to believe that this is a) a memory stick and b) patchable.

Too bad a thing like this doesn't exist to roll back the firmware. I have 2 fat consoles I would love to put 3.15 back on :). other os ftw :).Or maybe in debug mode you can downgrade??? Doubt it tho.

$150? That's pretty close to destroying the point of piracy. At that point I'd rather just wait for the games to be $10 on Amazon and give my money to the people who made the games rather than some cocks in China.

Finally, the ps3 jailbreak comes real. People who support Sony will still use the original disc. Some people like me want to enjoy the convenience and the flexibility of the new stuff, will try it. I ain't worry Sony will block those users. I think there will be new fireware to fix the problem.
I got an email from an online store. They have this thing. I'm considering to order. http://www.gadget-asia.com/en/home/world-s-first-ps3-modchip-ps-jailbreak-plug-and-play.html. They claim to the the authorized sell of ps jailbreak.

Could you be more desperate? You have cleared up nothing and you are only posting misinformation. I just cannot wait to see a free or far cheaper version of this USB stick.

How exactly can this be a "USB stick"? PS3 doesn't load executable software from a USB memory stick nor does it boot off one. How exactly could you get a PS3 CPU to execute code of a "USB stick" without it first being broken?

Its just a clone of their support unlock tool. Put it in, turn on the console, console scans USB ports during POST and detects the tool, query's the tool and the tool responds with the appropriate key (that only Sony has access to). System then boots into an unlocked support mode that would allow a support technician to run diagnostics and backup / reload the system as needed. I would even venture forth that the original Sony tool was capable of re-flashing the FW and reloading the system OS without having to boot the damn thing fully (in case the OS got corrupted).

Because the procedure to do all this exists in the systems BIOS it would be impossible to "patch". This is the backdoor to get around a system update went-bad moment. I know everyone wants this to be a free "download warez" type fix but its not. It would require someone make their own custom unit by reverse engineering a unit sony. And while the price is excessively steep, their probably being made by hand by someone. Price will follow market supply / demand rules, and apparently there is a severe shortage of "PS3 jailbreaks" available on the market.
