Too bad you cant run around with a gnome and shoot stuff, but i guess they just look too scary for such a game. I just wish Crytek would take a look at how the rendering on the old game "Outcast" was done, and try recreating some of the technics they used. The graphics on that game was truly amazing and they havent been seen in any other games. Detail level is well and good, but the natural "feel"/look of things is something Crytek should try to improve on.

How dumbed down is this game going to be due to them porting it? Lol. I remember Rainbow Six port on PC had a lot more polygons than the xbox360 version.

5 year old hardware running the next installment of Crysis? lmao. "oh here's a great idea, let's move backward in technology"

"At the moment, we're getting slightly more performance from PS3 compared to 360."

Slight? Just a bit? I can think of another word for slight: negligible.

I'd love to see that cell processor in the PS3 finally get some love. But then, I don't think any XBox 360 games have fully taken advantage of their triple core CPU in the system. The only difference is that with the PS3, a new programming paradigm was forced upon developers, causing them to adopt it, kicking and screaming. Developers on the XBox 360 still can be stuck with single-core processing.

No system is better than the other, as far as hardware is concerned. The pros and cons balance each other out. In terms of graphical ability, the 360 is better than the PS3 due to the more powerful GPU. But for compute, the PS3 is better than the 360 due to the cell processor (if it's used properly). Typically, people focus in more on the graphics so in general, that's why the 360 has seen better light. But if both hardware is properly taken advantage of, it's just a question of what you care to emphasize.

[citation][nom]kiniku[/nom]If you want to see the superiority of the PS3 over the Xbox 360 look no further than several of the PS3's exclusives, such as the most recent release God of War III. It's on joint releases that the PS3 is shackled by the 360. It's a pleasure that Crytek is willing to risk upsetting the 360 faithful and push the limits on the hardware. But then again that's what Crytek does. One other thing. This completely baseless, unfounded rumor that the "PS3 has weaker graphics". This is nothing but wishful hearsay based on some "expert" techie boys that hopes to be a self fulfilling prophecy. Post some verifiable sources for this BS instead of repeating the same nonsense over and over again.[/citation]

PCs will rule...still
especially for anything that needs graphic quality

You can play it on your 21 inch PC monitor, I'm playing it on my 55 inch Wide Screen with near PC graphic quality, it will look sweet...............................

[citation][nom]hot74rod2003[/nom]i still think the first crysis looks better and was more fun than crysis warhead. anyone else???? i feel bad for the console people that missed out on the first half of the story :[[/citation]

No, Crysis Warhead worked better on low end machines and had a better frame rate. And it also seemed to look better since you could crank up the details a bit more without losing frames.

But both games were good in beginning levels. The whole alien-shooter-game thing gets old fast. Crysis 2 appears to be no different. They can't hype Crysis 2 for me due to that. It would be more fun if the game stayed consistent rather than getting into shooting fugly floaty things everywhere. Crysis mainly sells due to hype. It isn't even that enjoyable of a game as a whole.

well back when Crysis came out, they were looking into consoles, the developers even stated there benchmarks ran quite a bit better on the PS3 then xbox and cause of that rumoured a possible Crysis 1.5 for PS3 for a long time until Crysis 2 was rumoured. But what ever I am getting on the PC where the game belongs. Mouse + keyboard > controler.

but alas soo many idiot Piraters out there will ruin the sales for crysis 2 furter ruining the PC community. It was cause of stupid piraters that made crytec decide to look into multiplatform..

Just my humble opinon but i dont think the PS3 producing better graphics is gonna offset the console wars at this point. Your Xbox 360 guys are still gonna be xbox 360 guys cause they have so much invested in there console and children are gonna still get Xbox 360 and Wii (with todays economy most parents cant spend 299 on a game console for there kids... aspecial when they can pick up a xbox 360 for 199 (arcade and how many parents would know to get a harddrive version for more)). I know personally I couldnt justifiy buying a PS3 due to lack of games but just me

rooket, i understand what you mean. but my system could handle the first one maxed out at 1920x1080.i might have been in the 5% of people that could ,lol. they did make it to demanding for the average person to enjoy but for those of us that could squeeze everything out of it it was amazing!!

I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but I can't believe they can make the console versions look as good as even a mid range gaming PC. If that be the case why didn't they ever port the original to the consoles. Maybe that's why is set in an urban environment, because they know the console couldn't handle the large open outdoor expanses in Crysis 1. Take for instance FarCry PC vs Far Cry Instincts Predator Xbox 360. Not even close graphically. I won't even mention the blasphemous sequel to FarCry done by "UBIdiots".

[citation][nom]Trueno07[/nom]Better on PS3 blah blah blah, more power on PC blah blah blah.Let's see the game run on a PC with specs that are comparable to a ps3 or xbox 360.[/citation]

Gotta love the pissing contests regarding the platorm wars. Why don't we all just drop trout and compare, geez. LOL

Free roam?
Fully destructible?
Can you fly jets in it?
Drive cars?

Seen the new aliens in the trailer, looks awsome. Hopefully they didn't limit the gameplay like they did on the last ones and actually made if free roam. Non free roam games bore the crap out of me. Even metro 2033, call of duty modern warfare, crysis, bad company 2 ect..Get bored so easy in singleplayer. Free roam adds so much playability. Anyways, just me, but my favorite games are gtaiv, red faction, prototype, and just cause 2. That is the biggest thing I am hoping for.

Anyways, when crysis 2 comes out, I am gonna have to eat my words, cuz I told my console friends that it wouldn't even play on there systems thats why they didn't port it. But, I seen a video on the consoles and it doesn't look half bad. I am planning on having some friends over when it comes out, just to show them that there console isn't all it's cracked up to be. Gonna be interesting showing the difference between my i7 pc with a gtx 480 (evil laughing inside) vs. ps3 or xbox 360. Wonder what kind of FPS the console is gonna get. Min, max, ave.

Must have taken a hell of a lot of work getting it optimized to play on the console. Must be a lot of scripting and pre-rendering going on me thinks. Can't wait.

I have a feeling we need to wait 3 more years for a new graphics card to run this crap. 5970 nope! GTX 480! nope! Crysis 2 will bring them to their knees...

Crysis 2 is going to look the best on the PC, without any doubt.

The above atatement needs an edit.. " WITH THE FASTEST ( and most expensive..!! ) HARDWARE ONE CAN BUY TWO YEARS AFTER THE LAUNCH OF THE GAME " needs to be added..
