The pentium and the A6 are your best options. Better temps and power on the A6 but you may have better game play on the other due to the descrete card. Also the dual core pentium is stronger, but if you have a use for 4 cores then i'd go with the A6. All around the A6 is a great chip.
Also the build quailty for all of them with the exception of the HP is very good so you would have no worries there.

asus laptop with A6 also has a graphic card HD 6650m. Do you know if it can be used for gaming or it is available only in crossfire mode along with A6's IGP and not individually. :heink:

and regarding the A6 , i have read about it's cpu score higher than even core i3 2310m and i3 2330m. And price wise hp and asus x43sj are very near. I have never owned a laptop before so just skeptic about how much light and big a 14" laptop be in comparison to HP dm1 or lenovo x120e. Thank you very much though... :)

The IGP is the 6650m and it's built within the A6 cpu. It's more than capable of playing on low-medium at the screen's default resolution.

The higher scores were probably attributed to the 4 cores vs the dual core i3. In single threaded apps you'll get better performance on the i3 or pentium, but in well threaded apps that use more than 2 cores, you'll get better performance on the A6. To be honest the A6 in my opinion is your best bet.

As for weight, the A6 sounds like its a 5 pound laptop. It's not terribly heavy and won't give you any problems, but if you don't mind sacrificing alot of performance for a lighter laptop and smaller screen you can go for the e-350.
Personally i've never had trouble lugging a 5 pound laptop, as long as you aren't walking for more than 15 mins at a time or carrying alot you probably won't have a problem.

plz check the above link. it's of the site where these laptops are available online. :)

The following link shows this processor/APU having 6520g integrated graphics chip which is a class 3 chip. HD 6650m is a class 2 graphic card with dedicated 1GB ddr3 video buffer.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-A-Series-A6-3400M-Notebook-Processor.55753.0.html

So, acc. to shopping site and notebookcheck this laptop has both. So now the question remians, can one always play with HD 6650m or will this remain disabled and will get enabled only for crossfire mode...

The strange thing is the site you would buy from lists it as a dual core. I think it has some mislabeled specs on that site, If it does however have a deticated card, you can chose to use the IGP or both the IGP and the dedicated card. I'm pretty sure you can use just the dedicated card by itself but i'm going to look up that laptop from another site and find out more reliable specs.

Nevermind, i found some more valid sites saying that model IS a quad core, and DOES have a dedicated card for hybrid CF.
Asus doesn't list the model, or through search. I found it through google search to ASUS site, but all info on it is gone, just gives you error pages for that model.

I'm kind of late mentioning this, but you were curious about heat too, and the good thing about most ASUS laptops is they place most of the hot components away from you or toward the back to exhaust heat.

yes, absolutely correct abt the model no. i tried searching for it's drivers n bios from asus's site. when clicked on the link for the bios file, the link pointed to k43ta206.zip...206 is the bios version. a
:)
anyways, this means they have k43ta model in place of x43ta.

I have placed order with Flipkart on 21 Feb for x43ta.On that day the processor was Sabine A6 now it shows APU Dual Core

I wrote to Flipkart for an explanation they say and I quote

"Product : Asus X43 Series X43TA-VX052D Laptop ( COMD4ZAYPFGNTTVK )

We thank you for your patience. We would like to inform you that Sabine A6 is same as APU DualCore. Sabine is the name of the platform by AMD which was launched in June 2011. Sabine platform processors come with Dual core or quad core.

Please be informed that you will receive the laptop with the specifications for which you had ordered for. We would like to inform you that

It is the same. Sabine is the name of the platform by AMD which was launched in June 2011.
Sabine platform processors come with Dual core or quad core.

Customer need not worry as the it is the same he has ordered for."

I have no technical knowledge and totally confused :pt1cable:
I think I should cancel the order

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K10/AMD-A6-Series A6-3400M.html

AMD A6-3400M APU was one of the first two mobile microprocessors from "A6-Series for Notebooks" family, introduced in June 2011. At the launch time, AMD also released 6 other dual- and quad-core models, all of them using newly announced Llano core. This processor is a part of Sabine platform, and it's aimed at mid-class mainstream notebooks.
AMD Llano core is a combination of improved "Stars" (K10) CPU cores, and high-performance integrated graphics controller. The A6-3400M, manufactured on 32nm process, comes with four CPU cores,

I seriously need some urgent advise in layman's terms PLEASE

Just a heads up, next time make your own thread instead of jacking someone else's.

Anyway, if you are uncomfortable with purchasing it then don't. If you need some more info on something I'll be happy to help but you didn't quite explain anything except that you are confused. What are you confused about?

Also, to jeetsm if what they say is true, then I'd look around some more. Everything I could find suggested a quad core. Ask flipkart when you get the chance to verify if this really is a dual core as the model points toward it being a quad.

Home > Drivers and Download > Notebook > X43TA the specs tab showed error message
I also came across the posts in this forum.

you (& probably me too) don't have to worry if wikipedia is to be believed:

A6-3400M cores=4 Frequency= 1.4 GHz Part Number: AM3400DDX43GX
A6-3410MX cores=4 Frequency= 1.6 GHz Part Number: AM3410HLX43GX

Model : HD 6520G (for both 3400M & 3410M)

both have 4MB cache too...that's 1MB/core... :)

Regarding error message on Asus's site, check one of my previous replies; I mentioned that X43TA is sames as K43TA / A43TA.

There's no X43TA on Asus's site. Thing is laptops mostly have varied names according to the regions they are launched in or some othr factors;

consider HP DM1z for example, this one is available on Flipkart.com as HP DM1 3210AU, AU denoting Australia if I am not wrong...similarly you can find this with US at the end depicting a US model...

hope it helps somehow... ;)

yes, you are right about enquiring it first before placing an order. Though when I searched about this one, I too got quad core specifications. there are numerous videos on youtube for A6- 3400M running crysis2, GTAIV...n what not.

I am definitely going to ask Flipkart through call about this and will update here accordingly... :)

Well it is on their site, it just takes you to a dead link and finding that dead link is hard.

Anyway, there could be a chance they are misleading you however because that model can come with an A4

:)...I have just called Flipkart and after bypassing Customer rep, I asked sales rep. who in turn asked the technical team and they confirmed it (A6) as the quad core.

Sales rep. assured me of calling me within an hour from now as to confirm the same once again from the technical team... :)

hiiiii...good news is that i hv double checked with flipkart about the apu(A6) they are offering in x43ta, it's a quad core.
once , when i called them up and second when they called back.
so, you need not cancel the order. :)

Thanks for the update
x43ta @ Rs 27362/- did seem like a "too good to be true" VFM offer

I have also sent an email to helpline_west@asus.com asking them the tech specs for x43ta I will let u know what they reply,......... if at all they reply

I looked up the specs for K43TA

Processor AMD® Fusion APU A6-3400M/A4-3300M Processor

Graphic AMD Radeon® HD 6650M with 1GB DDR3 VRAM Built-in A4-3300M
AMD Radeon® HD 6720G2 with 1GB DDR3 VRAM Built-in A6-3400M

specs for X43TA-VX052D at flipkart

Processor Quad-Core A6 ( as of today )

Graphic AMD Radeon HD 6650M

This means K43TA has A6-3400M & HD 6720G2 combo

BUT

X43TA has A6 & HD 6650M combo

well ?????!!!!!......... I find that worth looking into Don't you ?
