Please help me.. laptop to dvd(surroud sound)but w/o hdmi

Hi.. i'm new here.. can you guys help me..i tried to use my dvd player/cinema system as surround system for my hp laptop but the dvd player doesn't have hdmi in..

laptop = 1 hdmi
hdtv = 2 hdmi and several plugs..
dvd player = 1 hdmi out, 1 optical, and several plugs..

the tv is.. JVC LT-32EX18
and the DVD player is.. JVC TH-G30 (consists of XV-THG30 and SP-THG50C/F/W

i watched several youtubes but to no avail..

all i want is.. use the tv for monitor then make the sound come out of the surround system..

i really really appreciate the help.. been frustrated for the whole day.. thank you very much

You can use an HDMI audio extractor like this one

to get optical audio for the home theater.

ooh..nice..that's what im looking for!.. unfortunately i think we don't hav that here in philippines.. and even if.. i think it'll be too much for my budget.. it's 43$ on the internet.. around 2k on phil peso.. i can only go up to 1k.. ;( is there any other way good sir.. and thank you so much by the way.. i'll save up if i find it here..
