PocketPlus 2.0 bug

A few weeks ago I updated PocketPlus to version 2.0. Now I am getting
HUNDREDS of redundant entries in my Notify Queue. These are all
'PlusReminder.exe' and coloured red. I recently found as many as 2,388
of them!

Question 1: How do I fix this?

Question 2: How do they get there?

Question 3: Why are they not automatically deleted when I do a soft
reset? (I have '2003 Startup Fix' checked. And I have
'clear_notify.exe' in my StartUp folder. But the only way I can remove
them is by using Check Notifications and clicking Clear.)

If you haven't done so, it may be best to contact SPB support about this:

It's not necessary to enable "2003 Startup Fix" if you're using the latest
ROM update (1.10) for the 2210. Even though HP didn't explicitly state that
it fixes the notification database bug, it appears to have done so. This
would also eliminate the need to use "clear_notify.exe". I'm using
PocketPlus 2.0 on a 2210, and I'm not seeing the issues you identify.
Alarms are consistent and reliable. I'm not using the "2003 Startup Fix"
option in PocketPlus.

Thanks Tom. I did contact SPB but so far no reply. Howoever, in the
Brighthand and Pocket PC Thoughts forums I learned that the latest
build of 2.0 fixes this. And indeed it seems to have done so.

I am currently still using the original ROM 1.0. Basically out of fear
of screwing up and having to hard reset! My alarms are not too bad,
but I still get some quirks. The most frequent is a reminder sound
that starts up my PPC, yet all I see is the Today screen - no Agenda
Fusion task window. Sometimes that repeats, and I have to locate the
entry in the Notify Queue and delete it (with Remover).

I contacted them and had a response in about 6 hours.
They told me they were aware of the problem and already had a fix for it.

The original v2.0 was build 1178, just download the new trial on their
website, now build 1184

Thanks for posting that update. I signed up for their notifications about
upgrades but had not heard of this one. This new version, 1184, also seemed
to free up more user memory too. One thing I have noticed is that by
hitting the OK button on some open apps, instead of closing just that open
page, the entire app closes. I seem to remember that in the earlier
versions, just the active page would close, not the entire application. (For
example, open Excel, open a file, close the file, it used to go back to the
list of Excel files, now it closes Excel entirely). You having the same
issue?

The default action for the CLOSE button in Pocket Plus 2.0 is to close
the app. Try changing that in the OPTIONS to minimize and see if that
does what you want.

I have played around with it but can't tweak it just right. If I select
MINIMIZE as the action for the button, the whole application minimizes. I
want to close one open page at a time - if that makes sense. What seems to
work best is to set the button to the CLOSE setting, then press and hold the
OK button when I am ready to say, close the spreadsheet I am working on and
open another without exiting Excel. I then select CLOSE from the drop down
menu. That closes the page without closing the whole application.
