I am studying engineering course and I do play games like Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3 and Diablo 3. I needed portability but at the same time can play these games. So, which one should I get?

1. Asus U36SD
- i7-2620M 2.7GHz with TurboBoost to 3.4GHz
- NVIDIA GT 520M at 1GB DDR3 VRAM
- 8GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz
- 500GB at 7200rpm SATA Hard Disk
- 8 cells battery at 1.66kg
- 13.3" 16:9 HD (1366x768) LED backlight

or

2. Asus U46SV
- i5-2430M 2.4GHz with TurboBoost to 3.0GHz
- NVIDIA GT 540M at 1GB DDR3 VRAM
- 8GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz
- 500GB at 7200rpm SATA Hard Disk
- 8 cells battery at 2.0kg
- 14.0" 16:9 HD (1366x768) LED backlight

Optical drive is not important, HDMI and USB 3.0 are available. The difference might be small but which one should I get with the most efficient output for both portability and performance. Thanks for your helps and opinions in advance :)

definitely the second option since it will offer better gaming performance. i5 will be able to handle any matlab or solidworks you throw at it with no problem, plus 540 will provide better hardware acceleration in any type of CAD than a 520.

Plus I think you'll like a little larger screen in the long run, since the resolution on those screens is the same.

I imagine that the 13" is also more expensive, no?
