Possible to replace an optical drive on a laptop?

I have a Lenovo Y500 and the tray DVD drive occasionally becomes ejected at very random times, I want to replace it with a slot-loading BD-R drive like this:

Has anyone done something like that? Is it possible?

Yes, but going by the specs of the original drive you need a 9.5mm drive, the drive in the link is 12.7mm. I can't seem to find a 9.5mm slot load drive that has a plastic face as they all seem to be open and would work but look bad.

The current drive just opens by itself at random times? Or are you accidentally bumping the eject button?
