Power cord gone wonky

hello all my, my power cord is breaking I think. it has to be in just the right position to charge, and other times it just wont charge. I am wondering if there is a way to fix this? Or maybe its the thing inside the computer that receives the power that's at fault here. I am not sure. And if I am going to have to guy a new one, how can I make sure I buy the right power cord. thanks in advance.
