Is there a way to make private appointments only appear on my iPaq without
syncing to my computer. Is there a way to do this using categories?

Hi Kevin,

Do you mean - "Can I select certain categories of appointments to be
synchronized and certain categories to NOT be synchronized?"

If that's the case then, no - I don't think there are any provisions for
that. You can turn off synchronization of your calendar altogether, but not
selectively by category.

Just curious - why would you want to do that? Trying to keep personal PPC
separate from work machine or something like that?

I think that you can. I haven't tried but if you check in Activesync. Go
to Tools\options, then click on contacts, then "settings", it will bring a
window that I think can do what you want. I am not sure only trying to
help.

Cheers

Thanks Radha, I tried that before and it moves the appt to the desktop and
deletes the appt on the iPaq. I am not sure why it works that way?

Hi Kevin,

One of those ways would be not to sync Calendar with your computer. ;-)

If you do a category based selection, all appointments that don't fall under
the category on your PPC will be moved to your computer and deleted from the
PPC. That is the way Activesync is designed to work. BTW are you syncing
with one or two computers?
