Problem using bluetooth dongle.

I have sony MDR-XB650BT headphones, wireless with bluetooth. I tried connecting them to my laptop(HP pavilion G4 without bluetooth) with a bluetooth dongle but could not. It recognized the device and found it but did not connect with it showing that a supporting software was not found. I tried to download software from net but cannot find the right one. Help out.

You did not mention the User Guide/Manual. Do you have it?

My thought is that you may have missed something in the setup/configuration process.

Start over, using the manual, and see if the problem can be resolved. If not, then post the details of what is or is not happening. Thanks.

The bluetooth dongle was connected without any setup process. It does not even detect my headphones now. I tried connecting my phone, it detects it but does not send or receive files.

It could be a driver problem.

What make and model Bluetooth adapter/dongle did you buy? The manufacturer's website should have any necessary drivers or software.
