Problem with Acer laptop

Hello,

I have an Acer Aspire E 11 ES1-111M-P2YU 11.6" Notebook Computer, which I bought less than 4 months ago.

Unfortunately today it has stopped working properly. When I try to reboot it, sometimes it reaches the log-in page, sometimes it doesn't (just blank screen). I have managed to log-in and access data briefly (so backed up the files I had yet to back up), before the laptop just completely freezes. It makes a strange scratching sound every 60 seconds.

Any idea what the problem is and what i can do to rectify it?

Is the noise coming the harddrive area?

Yes I think that's where its coming from, although i can't tell exactly where the hard drive is at moment without a screwdriver
