Problem with screen on Compaq Nx7400

I have half a page of lines, bottom half, sometimes worse than other times. Occasionally adjusting the angle of the screen will fix the problem which suggests that this looks like a loose wire or connection to my inexperienced eyes. Any suggestions? I am not capable of doing the repair myself.

the suggestion is obviously to take it to repair shop or contact compaq/hp for service.

If it's a connection you might get away with wire replacement, worst case they'll replace the LCD.
