Recently, my pc and external hdd being infected with Win32/Sality.AT. I dont care about my pc because I can just format it, but most of my software installer in external hdd, especially .exe file got infected with this virus. Now, some of them (Games) like 5GB - 9GB got corrupted.

So, in order to protect files from this kind of viruses, can we protect a files like .exe by compressing them to .rar/.zip/.7z or maybe encrypting them? Thnks.

And, is there any tools to prevent viruses from infecting the files on external hdd/pendrive? Maybe something like scripting and save them into .ini, i don't know. We can make background image using .ini file on external hdd/pendrive, maybe someone genius out there can make a script command that is running/activated when the external hdd/pendrive attached to the computer, just to prevent something out of control going inside the external/pendrive.
