Hello all
So getting straight to it i have 3 items in my audio chain

PS4 Pro, Sony HT-AS5 Home Cinema, Samsung 65KU6020 TV.

I would like to enjoy the best Quality 5.1 sound i can that is with PS4 for Blu Ray and gaming, also the TV for apps (Netflix etc).

What settings should i have for audio on PS4 and TV and which would be the best way to connect up ?

I would want to play everything in 4k when it allows of course.

My weak link is my amp as this is only HDMI 1.4 and does not do HDCP 2.2.

Any help or advice would be appreciated

connect the PS4 to the TV by HDMI

connect the TV directly to the amp by an optical cable
Ok thank you
So PS4 Settings - Audio output via hdmi i take it ? And do i set to LPCM or bitstream ?

Then TV to amp settings same question please, Do i set as PCM or bitstream ? And audio format PCM or dolby digital ?
Thank you again

Ok thank you that makes a lot more sense

couldnt find anything online that puts it more simpler !

anyone else in a similar situation

i now have Ps4 pro connected to TV Via HDMI

audio output Settings on PS4 to Hdmi>Bitstream>Dolby Digital

Samsung TV audio output HMDI and connected to ARC on amplifier Settings are same as Bitstream>Dolby Digital

so sending the packaged Dolby 5.1 signal to be decoded via the amp itself

There doesn’t seem to be a Tv around that can passthrough a LPCM to the amplifier and just passes it through as 2.1

Thank you all for your help and this seems to work perfectly for my ps4 on blu rays, games and apps on my TV
