Hi,

I was browsing Youtube on my laptop (2012 - Samsung NP355V5C-901UK) when suddenly a pinkish purple tint appeared. Not covered, I could still easily read text, see thumbnails etc, just a tint. A few seconds later the laptop shutdown, and it won't restart.
Nothing, no clicks, no sign of the fan doing even the faintest of whirring - dead.

I tried doing that electrostatic discharge thing (twice), nothing.
I plugged in an external monitor, nothing.

Up to this point I haven't really had any issues. It's not very fast, but it's always started and ran fine.

I don't think it's the charger because the little green light to show it's on is on, and the socket is fine.

O great tech lords of this forum I call to thee,

Cheers

Solution
Very likely the motherboard needs to be replaced, although if it has a video card that can be removed (very unlikely) replacing that may help.
