Hi, I'm wondering if anyone out there can suggest the
best way to download music on to my iPAQ PDA.

I've already downloaded/transfered 5-6 songs from my
Microsoft Windows Media Player to my iPAQ but it appears
I've run out of room and these few alone took up 24 MB.

Should I convert my songs to MP3? If so, can you suggest
how I go about doing this?

Thanks!

I use the .wma format, somewhat smaller than .mp3, and I can't hear any
difference (although I know there is).

get a memory card (CF or SD, depending on your IPAQ model, my 2215 uses
both) and a usb-based card reader for it, then you can load lots of music
files on the card using your computer, and play them in the IPAQ.... this is
by far the fastest, easiest, and most convenient way I've found, and it's
not expensive.... card reader/writers can be found for $10-20, and the cost
of the card depends on how much memory it has....

Definitely convert to one of the compressed formats. I use mp3PRO which
reduces an album down to about 30-40Mb and gives acceptable quality for
playback on my hx4700.
I have a 256Mb SD card and have 4 full albums plus assorted other tracks
and I still have nearly 90Mb free.

I'd get a Storage Card. I personally use a 256CF Card and found that it
works fine. If you use iTunes, you'll need to burn the downloads to a CD
and then rip them in order to convert them to MP3's.
