I was wondering, since RAM is volatile, where does the drive created from excess RAM save info during shutdowns? Does it use space on an assigned HDD / SSD? If so, is this space 1:1?

Also, how does RAMDisk react to unexpected shutdowns; blue screens, power losses, etc.?

A RAM disk, being volatile, does not retain, or save its contents during shutdown. If power is lost, the contents of your RAM disk are lost.

Yes, but AMD's RAMDisk software, and other similar programs, somehow reinstate the info upon booting back up. I'm asking about this process, specifically for the AMD program.

It undoubtedly uses disk space to store the contents of the RAM disk during a normal shutdown. However, nothing can prevent data loss when the system loses power or crashes suddenly.

Yep, that's what I figured, thanks.
