Radeon HD 8750 (2 GB gDDR3) and GT 740m (1GB DDR3)

Which is better ?

specs:

1)8750m (2GB gDDR3)
2)6 gb DDR3 RAM

OR

1)740m (1GB DDR3)
2)4gb DDR3 RAM

Both are with i5-3230 processor. Is the extra 1gb in 8750 worth it?
And what's the difference between DDR3 and gDDR3 in GPUs?

First, nope if its DDR3 then 1 vs 2 Gig doesn't mean a thing on a video cards since it probably paired up with a weak GPU.

One has a better 740m (Lenovo)but the other has more ram (6gb) (samsung). Anyone here used either of these?

Not sure if you bought your laptop yet but I would go with the lenovo just because of the better battery life since every thing else is so close.
