RAM upgrade in Asus G75VX

I recently bought a 16GB upgrade kit for my notebook; however, when I install the memory into the back slots and then turn the computer on, the monitor will not turn on nor will the keyboard backlights trigger. Are there any pre-installation procedures that need to be done before I make the upgrade?

I would make sure the RAM you purchased is compatible first. The specs should be the same as the RAM already in the notebook. There really shouldn't be any steps needed after the installation.
