Razer kraken 7.1 chroma not detected

I recently bought a kraken 7.1 chroma to replace my broken pair, but whenever I plug it in it isn't detected by windows or razer synapse. I have a feeling that it might be a broken cable but if anyone has other ideas I would love to try them before I pay someone else to try and fix them. Thanks.
