RCA RCT6773W42 not turning on

I have a Brand new, kept in box for about 10 months, RCA tablet, once out of the box turned on for about 30 minutes only for set up then turned of and I can not get it to turn on, Can anyone help please?
The screen stayus black not even the Android emblem shows up or anything. I have tried resetting and nothing happens, screen stays black.

You may have a bad battery, having left it like that for so long. Have you tried plugging it in, leaving it be and letting it charge?
