RCA viking SD card in mounts on sleep/wake , now can't write to it

RCA tablet sd card unmounts on sleep, suddenly cant write to it, with any program, says error writing/creating whatever im trying to do. Also now says damaged sometimes. Card worked fine in phone. No PC to reformat that way, heard renaming could work, but again no PC, its incommunicado for the moment. Have chromebook, can't rename there either.
Would hate to buy new card to have same issue. 🙁
Tablet a week old. . any suggestions appreciated.

I would suggest taking the tablet it to the place you bought it, or their place of repair, and have them see if the problem is the tablet itself, the SD slot, or the SD card.

If it is something with the tablet or the slot, they can fix and/or replace it for you.

If it is the card, well then you can just get a new one.
