reason for phone not charging?

my phone recently stopped charging and i'm trying to figure out what is wrong so i don't have to buy a new phone unless i have to.
i know it isn't the charger as i tried it on my bluetooth and it worked fine. at the moment it still turns on but just won't charge. does it mean this isn't a problem with the battery as it still comes on? or is that irrelevant?
how cand i find out what's wrong if it's not that?

just so you know, i did clean out the holes and there is no dust or cack gathered there.

It's possible that the battery is just malfunctioning. As they age, they can have issues charging or holding a charge. How old is the battery?

You should be able to buy a replacement either from your service provider, or on eBay or Amazon for a relatively decent price.

u will hav to change ur port frm ur service provider i guess!!!! i mean replace!!
