So I've been trying to record Minecraft fullscreen using Action! and Fraps, but both make my FPS drop from ~600 to 40. Interestingly, both softwares max out at exactly 43 fps* for me. Windowed helps bring the fps up but I don't want to record without fullscreen.

Note - I have used shadowplay and it works fine, but I want to use Action to record 120fps.

My rig:

i5-4590 (stock cooler)
Asus Strix GTX970 - OC'd (stable)
Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H
Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3-1600
PNY CS1111 240GB SSD
EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold
(Running windows 8.1, with latest graphics drivers)

If you need logs, I'll post; I just don't want to make the post unorganized and they might not be needed.

Update - Tried recording with MSI Afterburner; the FPS maxed out at 50.
*Update 2 - Tried going with dual channel for my ram, Action! is recording at a whopping 55fps for 720p 60fps video. Shadowplay's settings would be far superior but I want to be able to record 120fps video. Afterburner's running at 60fps.

Fraps I've had nothing but trouble with. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the MSI Afterburner video capture in their software. VERY GOOD! Very flexible and lots of stuff to change too so take time to learn it. :)

Just tried it. FPS was capped at 50fps, even though I'd set the max fps to 240 and the max video fps to 120

I apologize for not reading entirely. Beyond that, I am not too familiar with recording software. My apologies

It's fine, also, I'm going to try and run my ram in dual channel (something I shouldve done long ago) and see if there's improvement.

Update: went from single to dual channel and I'm now getting a whopping 55fps while recording at 720p 60fps. :c
