Red tint on screen of pavilion dv9000

Hello,
I have a 4 year old HP pavilion dv9000 laptop which has developed a pink/red tinge, this is especially noticeable on light background such as word documents, if I move screen fully upright I can get rid of it. I suspect either a loose connection or damaged link within hinge. has anyone had similar problem ? & if so what was remedy

remove the screen surround and check the connection, usually 4/6 screws holding it in place under teh rubber pads.
