Hello guys. I have an asus g751jy. Let me start by explaining what happened:
A couple weeks ago I spilled just a little bit of mineral water on my laptop right near the mouse pad. Just a tiny bit might have gotten in between the arrow keys and the touchpad buttons, although unlikely. Right after the spill the keys were all acting strangely, they weren't working right. I restarted the laptop and everything started working fine again. Every key works perfectly.
However I had been getting 50+ fps all the time while playing the witcher 3. I didn't play much after the spill had to do lots of homework and had midterms too. I'd say I didn't play for like a week, meanwhile witcher 3 had a massive update 10GBs. My laptop has a 256 gb ssd drive in it, where the game is installed for faster load screens and such. I also keep all my IDE's in those directories which take a little space too. I played the game again today and noticed a significant fps drop. Never seen the fps drop down below 45, but today it got as low as 38-39. And overall performance is reduced.
Do you think this is due to the things that are installed in my ssd drive? I've heard having more stuff written in the ssd drive means getting less performance. Also can it be because of the massive update to the game somehow made the game harder to run on pcs? Or is it because of the spill?

My thoughts are firstly, as soon as the keys acted odd after a spill is to shut down the computer!.. it's a sign that something did get in.
Secondly, be sure all moisture is gone before you try booting..water can cause a very bad short in a very small area. Sounds like you let it sit a long time and there wasn't much liquid, so it probably did all evaporate.
Finally, I suspect the patch may be more demanding on certain systems. If everything else seems to perform as usual, that's likely the case. Read around on the Net to see if there are similar complaints and maybe try easing up on settings that worked before

Thanks. I've done a little research and found out that more people have experienced a significant fps drop like me, most of them being worse. Also a friend said the spill may not have caused any damage for now but in the long run it would degenerate my keyboard sooner than it should have. Do you think I should send the laptop to the manufacturer and ask them to change the keyboard? Or you think it's a waste of time.
