Regarding Facebook layout

Hi Toms Hardware!!

My grandfather has been using Facebook a lot recently, and all of a sudden his layout changed from this

to this

-

Is it supposed to have done that - or has he clicked something? If so, how do I change it back?

i do know that some websites behave differently with different websites' layout (CSS is used differently), has he switched browsers? like say from IE to Chrome or Firefox?

Edit: i don't use facebook but once in a blue moon, so i may not be much help.

Edit2: my facebook looks like something in between those 2, the planet and the other 2 icons are on the left of my profile pic, I'm using Firefox

He has been using Google Chrome this whole time.. Thanks for your reply xeonight. 🙂

Any other with thoughts? He is a major habitperson, and it kills him to have to change again.
If so - he must change - he would like to know as a fact, and not sit hoping that it can be changed back to usual.
