What type of Bluetooth transmitter is recommended for this? Is it as simple as plugging in a Bluetooth transmitter (like a Miccus home Rx) to the CD player output on the amp and purchasing some decent Blue tooth wireless speakers?

Solution
Best option would connect the Bluetooth transmitter to the tape record output on the amp.
If you don't have one then preout or a speaker to line level adapter like this

could be used to feed the transmitter. The downside to this is that the volume control of the amp would affect the level feeding the transmitter. This would allow you to send all the sources connected to the amp to the BT speakers.
If you only want to send CD then you can split the output of the CD player and connect it to both the amp and the transmitter.
How is your setup wired? You should have CD Player to AMP to Speakers.
If the Amp has an RCA OUTPUT then you could hook the bluetooth reciever to that.
If the amp only has speaker terminals you will have to either find a bluetooth transmiter that accepts speaker terminals or use a line level converter to convert to RCA.

Now in all reality if you are just using bluetooth speakers then why are you using the amp for in the first place, its not like it is going to give your bluetooth speakers more watts of power.
