Replacing the cracked screen of an hp pavilion dv6500 with a different

I recently cracked the screen of my HP Pavilion dv6500. However, I currently have in my possession another Compaq Presario of similar make. Ideally, I'd like to transplant the LCd screen from the Presario over to my Pavilion. Has anyone accomplished something similar with positive results? I'd sincerely appreciate the help.

okay well it worked
