[citation][nom]iprogramrobot[/nom]Okay everyone... This FBI raid is totally unrelated to Toyota's recall issues. The three Japanese part suppliers are under investigation for "Anticompetitive cartel conduct". The investigation is being conducted in cooperation with an investigation by the European Commission and other foreign authorities.THERE IS NO CONSPIRACY HERE... It is fairly common knowledge in international business that Japanese corporations form very close partnerships with each other. Often these relationships are used to gain unfair advantage. In some cases, these practices can become questionable in the eyes of international law.http://www.latimes.com/business/na [...] 3178.story[/citation]
You had me beleiving until you quoted from the LA Times.....

Never have and never ever will own a Toyota. I don't understand why there are so many Toyota fan boys trying to defend them, They are a huge greedy company that decided that safety should take a backseat to profits. They deserve everything there getting for their poor business practices. But beside all that there just really ugly and boring to drive. People who drive Toyota clearly have no taste in vehicles.

Toyota is a non union car maker. So now Obama and his Union thugs are attacking Toyota from all sides now. Does not surprise me.

I used to be all about GM products... that is until I bought a Lexus. Sorry GM, I'd have to say my next car will likely be a Toyota/Lexus. My Wife feels the same about her Camery. Her last one drove for well over 400,000 miles before she SOLD it for over $1000... My Chevy was on it's last leg after 150,000 miles, and I only got $300 for it.

I think the government is blacklisting toyota, as the US economy goes worse, and people buy Toyota's all over the place!
A toyota is affordable, solid, trustworthy, and energy efficient. What more would you want?
If you're not into the V6/V8 business with gas guzzlers, it is the car to buy, but I guess US is using the media to blacklist toyota a bit.
For christs sake, tell me which autocompany hasn't had an issue like the gas pedal being stuck?
The gas pedal WAS MADE IN AMERICA! (yes, they did not get imported from Japan).

Compare that to a buick enclave which radiator fries within a year or two, and you'll see that despite a minor issue with toyota, it is still the better option over the majority of (especially US) cars!

Chevrolet is following in the footsteps of Toyota lately by building high mpg cars but their build quality is not nearly as good as a toyota.

Sorry guys, but US really sucks at building energy efficient/green cars!

[citation][nom]symetrixpc[/nom]Wish I had the money right now to get a toyota. I'm honestly not that worried about the recall issues and I could use it as leverage to get it cheap. oh well.[/citation]

We traded in our 2005 Toyota Sienna for a 2010 Toyota Sequoia (4WD with the optional 5.7L DOHC V8 engine) last August. We took the family on many trips across the country, in the Sienna, often pulling a small trailer with camping gear, bikes, etc. and never had any problems (couple of flat tires, but that is from crap in the road). That was a great vehicle (in contrast to our previous minivan, a Plymouth Voyager which had a major transmission failure on our first long-distance trip).

The Sequoia has been an absolute godsend with the heavy snowfalls we've experienced in the past few weeks. Even after a heavy snowfall and before the plows get up to our area, we just put this bad boy into 4-low and it goes through deep snow and drifts like a snow cat. I keep heavy tow-chains in the back because I've already had to pull a few vehicles out of the snow and ice (including my own car, a 2007 Civic that I use for commuting).

Suffice it to say, I love Toyota vehicles and I wouldn't hesitate to buy one tomorrow if I needed another one.

Honda - Also very good. I prefer the Civic to the Corolla, but that's a personal preference.

Government Motors (GM) - I'd drive one if it were given to me, but otherwise, no thank.

Chysler - After the trouble we had with our Voyager... never again.

Ford - They make some good vehicles (and were the only "domestic" company that didn't take government handouts). I would consider them.
