Enough is enough.. I'm tired of all those people whining "Boycott XX - he has copy protection".

From ALL game companies, Blizzard is the most dedicated to its customers. Of course they have to put some copy-protection scheme on their software, or else by now the Czech guy and all his friends would have finished the 'Wings of Liberty' maps and would whine on some forum about having to wait for 1 year for the next release.

Blizzard will give free of charge Battle.net access, the game will be playable off-line etc. Generally Blizzard reacted on most of user's feedback and protests.

So, thumbs up, and if you don't want to play SC2, well, one less player on Battle.net - nobody will notice it 😀

Given the typical problem with LAN support. I'm still buying the game, and in reality i already have the collectors edition fully paid off, as well as the marine stand-up board paid off haha. I look forward to it even if it doesn't have LAN support, I'm sure with enough support behind it they could easily patch it possibly. I'm no blizzard employee but i love blizzards games, i own all of them and have much respect for what the company has done since the beginning. The only thing i wish was for them to break away from Activision. Most likely won't ever happen. 18 days left before SC2!!!! I'm excited, not because of the no LAN support but because of the possibilities with the Map Editor =D

LAN support in a game that help shaped the entire LAN party community is sorely needed. I would have purchased 2 copies of SC, one for me and my son, but there's no reason now because there's no LAN support and he's not getting a battle.net account.

Also, what about all those Koreans? Thousands of them go to a cafe and play SC over a LAN. Does Blizzard really think they are all going to play on bnet?

Whomever thinks taking LAN out is ok, doesn't really get why everyone is complaining. They probably have never been invited nor attended a LAN party so they can stfu.

In the end, someone will provide a bnet server hack that will allow local play, then it will all be free...

I completely agree. Most of the time I play RTSs is when I get together with a bunch of friends for a LAN game. I hardly ever play online, its just not as much fun when you're not in the same room. I just don't understand why they had to take it out. The game will be hacked to add LAN support anyways.

Teo why I think "boycotting" is going overboard. The no lan is stupid. It does nothing against pirates..

And to the person who say deployed soldiers is a cherry picked example. I beg to differ there are plenty of soldiers over here. So it's not like it's just a handful.

And it's just not lower enlisted, but plenty of higher ups play also.

To zerg wtf do you think we do out here all the time.. There is downtime, and were I'm at not to much to do. Hell we don't even have a gym nearby yet.

I'm pretty sure he was joking.

Call me deprived, but i never played any Blizzard games. I was possibly going to buy this one, but i am a firm believer of LAN support, when it is patched to support LAN play I may change my decision. But my dollar won't really matter by then.

I dont meant to offend any soldiers saying it is a cherry picked example. However, the fact that a lot of games are moving AWAY from LAN support towards online-always based support IMPLIES game developers BELIEVE the market is very small. Most people have internet access full stop and this is the market they are supporting.

No need to give me thumbs down for stating an obvious, albeit unpopular fact.

If it means so much to you, dont buy the game and when Blizzard notices all the missed sales they will add back in Lan support for those without internet access. /unlikely.

Honestly blizzard might of cared for it's customers 7-8 years ago. but when WoW released that care quickly disappeared. Now it's just about money money money. now they release a game into 3 seperate sections so they can charge you 3 times the normal amount and well their greed will be there downfall. So all you die-hard fans who want to see you blizzard in the light of 10 years before can spend $150 dollars on a single game, me I'll wait for the next great game. and there are plenty of them.
