Report: MySpace to Launch Email Service

TechCrunch today reports that MySpace is building a fully functional webmail product. Citing sources “with knowledge of the product,” the site reports that MySpace mail will be aimed at competing with the likes of Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail and Gmail.

they should do that, myspace is just a mess compared to facebook's simplicity and quality. i hope myspace limit user freedom in customizing pages, most pages i see there are horrible and with lots of spam.

it will have use, there is always new to internet users and myspace users, which, most are of the teen and younger audience.
i am expecting to see myspace mail features focused on that group since yahoo mail and gmail already caters to the working and professional or simply, the adults.

Then I bet Facebook might counter that with Facebook Mail. Heck, Facebook's internal mailing system already is simple but sophisticated enough to replace email.

I'll keep using my Facebook and GMail for the foreseeable future.

Great idea! Maybe I will hear less about these emo myspace users when they go under after all the anger from the plethora of ads/spam.
