32GB internal and no SD card slot, thanks but no thanks!

Toshiba has a 128GB chip for internal storage since last year, so it is about time that cell phone manufacturers start to step up and increase the internal storage capabilities now that we have HD video on these phones.

[citation][nom]WhysoBluepandabear[/nom]Um, what? I can fit my entire hand in my jean pockets, and almost all my jeans are designer & not some huge construction style.....So how does a 4.7" screen not fit in your pocket?[/citation]

He said "side" pocket, not his regular pockets.

For people not familiar with smartphones, the battery is probably around 10hours-day worth of medium usage on average.

No battery jokes for these phones.

[citation][nom]g00fysmiley[/nom]you guys shouldn't compare these chips to an x86 its like coparing apples to potatoes... I happen to love both... they are both food... both can be delicious mashed... both can be made in pies... hmm apples and potatoes are pretty similar actually >_< bad analogy. [/citation]
Both can be distilled ;)

[citation][nom]officeguy[/nom]Ok, so when do we stop calling it a phone and start calling it a mini computer that can do it all?[/citation]
Loooooooong time ago mobile phones started conforming to the specification of von Neuman's machine, in other words they have been computers for quite a long time.

[citation][nom]brett1042002[/nom]Wow. Quad core phones next year? Can't wait to see what will be available after my contract expires in 2 years. Hexa... Octa-core? Breaking 3ghz barrier?[/citation]

I'm new to the smartphone sector of tech, but what does quad core do for you on a smartphone? I'm getting used to a 1ghz dual-core smartphone, and so far my understanding is that more cores helps with 1080p recording and playback via hdmi out or something.

What are other people doing with their smartphones that having that much juice makes a difference? I just can't comprehend it! :)

2.5Ghz Quad core Phone.
I'm not impressed at all, I predicted long ago that Phones will be the dominant computer in the near future. The same way that minicomputers eclipsed mainframes, and desktop PCs eclipsed minicomputers, phones will eclipse PCs. Soon we will either carry our phone for mobility and dock into a 32" screen and use it as a traditional desktop (that you can take away in your pocket). This phones have more computing power than 90% of users actually need in a desktop (90% of tom's readers belong to the other 10% users).

I'm ashamed to write this comment from a noisy 2 GHz Dual core Desktop, that weights like 10 pounds and consumes 200-300 W :-(
