restore an acer back to windows 7 after the OS was changed to ubuntu

My boyfriend gave me his old acer laptop. It had originally had windows 7 n it but he changed the OS to linux ubuntu. I do not know where to find the partitions and there is no recovery disc from the windows 7. What are my options?

Check the user's guide (might have to download it online) and see if there is a certain key or keys you need to press during boot, like F10 or something...
