RGB LED Strips Synced to Music

Hey all. Was wanting to put some LED RGB strips around my room and sync music from my iPhone 5c to them. I was wondering how I would go about this. Here's the basic rundown: I want to be able to use my phone to play music via either WiFi or Bluetooth to a speaker system w/ a subwoofer, and have LED RGB strips placed around my room flash and change colors to the beat. I would also like to be able to adjust the LED's using some sort of spectrum on my phone, like an app or some sort if I wasn't in the mood for music. Anyone got any idea on how to do this and what I need? Thanks!

I did something like this ages ago with a Maple Mini (think arduino with more processing power) and some chips, but I don't know if there's any turnkey solution around.

I already have an Arduino. Do you think that could do the job?

Probably not, though maybe. It was pretty stripped-down code and still wasn't bug-free.

You would need a sound to light unit like discos use but you may need to tinker a bit to get it working with LEDs.
