Seems to be in keeping with the push to get ACTA through as well. Our Rights? What rights? As usual it seems that Corporate or Government greed always trumps personal rights. What's next you ask, maybe they will ask us all to send them the key to our front door, let's do away with the need for troublesome search warrants and proof of evidence of a crime before accusing us. Let's just assume everyone is guilty, makes it that much easier for them. In assuming this, does that also make them guilty too?

What's the fuss? I have the end-all answer to ALL of this!
I do this myself! Download to hard drive using a USB WiFi
adapter; then, when finished for the moment, pull out the
USB adapter, then transfer all your "downloads" to an
external USB-connected hard drive for storage!
Keep the 'external' drive turned off when online and I'd
like to SEE anyone get to its' content! NOT POSSIBLE!
Now, in addition, when accessing the 'external drive's
content, keep the USB WiFi adapter REMOVED!
This keeps the computer 'offline' while you enjoy your
downloads!
Use this same idea to try THIS; have a download folder
on your main (or secondary) drive with duplicates of
all on the 'external'! Keep external off at all times
when you're online. Then, if your 'downloads' begin
strangely 'disappearing', no worries; you still have
everything 'duplicated' on the external! BEAUTY, EH??

according to the article, this would be accomplished with "'anti-infringement' spyware developed and enforced by the government." and "based on tools used to protect consumers from viruses and malware".

This leads to a very simple solution: Run an Operating System that does not need / require / use the most common forms of tools used to "protect consumers from viruses and malware". This operating system is called Linux. Google it, it's free, open source, more stable, and no main stream viruses.

yeah, this whole thing is bull, but there are a lot of illegal file sharing sites that are jerks as well, i own a small record label, and if people want to share our music because they like it thats one thing, but when other sites are MAKING MONEY sharing MY music that makes me sad and want to give up....
