They need to put a chip in our aural and optic nerves. It makes a wireless draft from you bank account everytime you view/hear i.p. If you don't have the money, they pwn your ass.

They both need to get a life, i only buy what movies i like and the rest on netflix, this should not pass at all. If they can catch people the way there trying now then they need to try harder, and also not frame people as what might happen if they see a movie you copied for you netbook. i say down with them both. All they do is sue the wrong people. Also wouldn't the spyware make it easy for other hackers to take control of that pc and theres?

"And in other news, the whole world has switched to Linux."
/joke

Seriously, I remember a few years ago when I wasted my money on an Our Lady Peace album that came with a Sony root-kit virus. That was the very last time I purchased a CD from a big label. I now support the bands I like by buying concert tickets.

Hey RIAA, way to ruin the internet.

who is to say the government, RIAA, MPAA, Apple, Microsoft, adobe, etc can not already monitor our every click, see our every file, or record what ever they want. I bet those who pirate are already fucked. we never had freedom in the first place

You really are paranoid and dumb uh?

Ya all those millions of pirates are so screwed. lmfao.

i cant wait to hear on the news that the RIAA and MPAA are getting their a$$ sued silly because they deleted some precious movie of a dead relative that had music playing in the background

everyone one should stop buying any music for about a year and let the a-holes go bankrupt and then let them crawl back saying they are sorry. Then whip it out and piss in their face.

screw you RIAA

They would only be blaming the pirates even more then.

It's not Illegal to download something you already own. It's a LEGAL backup!

SO! It's legal for the RIAA to delete something from my harddrive that I have the legal right to have? They would need to come to my house and Phsyically prove I do not own that music in order to take legal action against me.

Lets say there are some naughty movies made by me and the wife, for our own entertainment.
Lets say the RIAA scans my machine and finds these files.
Could I sue the RIAA for breach of privacy?
Could 10 million other people do the same in a class action lawsuit because the contents of my hard drive have the same sovereign right to privacy as the rest of the inside of my home?
You have no right to come into my home.

How about changing all the copyright laws, so that when I am travelling on business for extended time, that I can download US content from itunes no matter what country I am in (with out being threatened), or rent US online movies, or watch my favorite show. It is rules like these that forced me to the "darkside". Btw, I was more than willing to pay for my TV show, or a online movie rental.

Oh, I forgot to add that I can't even go to a rental store to rent a movie to play on my laptop, because of the DVD regions. Yes I know I could get around that, but then that would be illegal too wouldn't it?

sounds like the world as we know it coming to an end, these folks really are a joke right, what happened to the freedom of speech, free air and quality of life. Ah crap I forget that was all ruined a long time ago. Things can only get better right.
Considering that the only way for me to spend my hard earned money on anything is to try it first, and yes that means using torrent and pirate ways to try and then buy.
Suck the RIAA and anybody else that thinks that this is the way to go.
Free Air to ALL!! 😛

They are using the standard tactic of suggesting something much more draconian than what they think is realistic to implement so that they can then back down a notch or two and appear to have been "listening to criticism" and be resonable.
Don't let them move the laws another inch in the wrong direction - join the Pirate Party!
