Run a jar file in mobile phone

Hello,
I like to know how to run a jar program on my samsung galaxys I9000 mobile phone. I installed the software first on a pc and then transfer it to the mobile via bluetooth. When I click on the program file in the mobile I get the message "Open file - no applications can perform this action." Can someone tell me what's wrong with the jar file.

I believe that while you have your phone connected to your PC, that you run/install the program on your PC, which in turn then should automatically install it on your phone.
