RUST lag on gaming laptop

I lust got a new laptop, 4th gen i7 with 2.5 GHz, 8 GB RAM, Nvdia GTX 870m 4GB an 1 TB RAM, for some reason RUST (off steam) is Laggy/has a low fps even on low settings.

Rust is in alpha it doesn't run nice on any machine. The game stinks for optimization. Not to say its a bad game though i love it. I wouldn't worry about the under performing game, its just how it is. It should perform the same on high as it does with low. There would be a quality increase on high but still lack performance as equal to low if you get what im saying. It will perform the same on the low as high is what im getting at.

Im having the same problem, for some reason it only lags when im charging my laptop, dunno if its the same with you but ive played it before and the frames have been perfectly fine. The game isnt beta enough to be this bad dw we all have these issues some times, im still tryna figure out how to fix it. If i pull out the charger i can play for a bit before my laptop just dies but it aint a permanent fix.
